Latitude , Longitude and Time zones
To find the location of places on the Earth we need certain points of reference and lines. These lines are called latitudes and longitudes. These lines are located on maps and measured in degrees. Each degree is divided into 60 minutes and each minute has
Latitude
Latitude is the angular distance of a point on the earth’s surface with respect to the center of the Earth. Parallels of latitudes are parallel circles from the equator up to the poles. They are measured in degrees and the equator represents the zero-degree latitude and is the longest of these lines, they become shorter the farther you move to the poles, which have a latitude of 90°. [Note – Size of the parallels decreases but the distance between each is constant]
All parallels north of the equator are called ‘north latitudes.’ and all parallels south of the equator are called ‘south latitudes.’
If the latitude are drawn at an interval of 1 degree, then in each of the hemispheres there will be 89 latitude lines that will add up to 179 total lines
Sea Arch
When the waves attack a rock- form from two opposite sides, it produces a hollow bridge called Sea Arch.
Sea Cave
Sea Stack
Continued erosion, under the attack of the wave, can result in the total collapse of an arch the seaward portion of headland will remain as an isolated pillar called stack The stack is gradually eroded, leaving behind only the stump

Exposed Beach
A beach is a landform that's a narrow strip of loose particles along the coast of a body of water. Beaches are created by the accumulation of sediment, which is carried by waves and deposited on the shore.

Important Parallels of Latitude
⦾ Equator: The longest parallel of latitude, running east-west and with the greatest diameter. It is located at 0°.
⦾ Tropic of Cancer: Located at 23.5° north in the Northern Hemisphere.
⦾ Tropic of Capricorn: Located at 23.5° south in the Southern Hemisphere.
⦾ Arctic Circle: Located at 66.5° north of the equator.
⦾ Antarctic Circle: Located at 66.5° south of the equator.
⦾ North Pole: Located at 90° north of the equator.
⦾ South Pole: Located at 90° south of the equator.

Heat Zones of the Earth
The temperature zones are also identified based on the latitudes drawn from the Equator to the Poles. On the basis of latitudinal extent, the globe is divided into three broad heat zone
1. Frigid Zones
2. Temperate Zones
3. Torrid Zones
