2. Categorization of Pronouns [Interactive Text]
Introduction
Subjective pronouns, also known as nominative pronouns, are pronouns that act as the subject of a sentence, performing the action of the verb.
Rules for Using Subjective Case Pronoun
SCP + Main Verb + OCP
This structure indicates that the subjective case pronoun comes in the subject. For instance, He writes a letter to me. In this sentence, ‘He’ is the subjective case pronoun.
SCP use with Conjunction
Subjective case pronoun is also used after the conjunction. For instance, He told me that they had never contacted him. In this sentence, the conjunction ‘that’ is followed by the subjective case pronoun ‘they’.
SCP use with Other SCP in sentence
If two or more than two subjective case pronouns are used in a sentence, then their correct sequence is as follow:
1) 231 (you, he, I) sequence is to be followed while talking about positive ideas or good action. For instance, You, he and I have completed the work.
2)123 (I, you, he) sequence is to be fol- lowed while talking about negative ideas or bad action. For instance, I, you and he are criminals.
